Stay Safe: the TTRPG

I created "This Bear is a Thought / This Bear is a Prayer" after seeing that bears and other stuffed animals have become part of the American ritual of mourning after senseless violence.

So I was surprised to learn that another bear, Winnie-the-Pooh, became the face of a K-6 curriculum offered by a Texas-based firm, Praetorian Consulting. According to their website:

The Stay Safe K-6 curriculum features the well-known and beloved characters of Winnie-the-Pooh, which are in the public domain. Separate age-appropriate curriculums are available for older children, grades 7-8 and 9-12. Your organization’s personal introductory and safety message may be printed on the backside of the front cover of the Stay Safe booklet. Winnie the Pooh Stay Safe Crew sticker badges and Posters Run, fight, Hide Posters are also recommended and available.

I was sickened to see that the book, presumably intended for a younger, Pooh-friendly audience, exhorts small children: "If we can't get away, we have to FIGHT with all our might. Like Kanga and Roo do, it is better to fight together."

We have reached a new low when we're asked to contemplate a small child tackling an armed adult -- not because it can work, but because when all possible options are eliminated, the only choice left is the impossible.

So I present to you my new TTRPG which takes this premise at face value. Here's Stay Safe. It's literally unplayable.
